Wipro founder and philanthropist Azim Premji said on Wednesday that the country must unite and let go of all differences because the situation demands unity of action.
“Together we are stronger, divided, we continue to struggle,” Premji said during a televised public address at the “Positivity Unlimited” event organized by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to “boost morale citizens in the midst of the pandemic ”.
Speaking, the billionaire said: “We must act with the greatest speed on all fronts and these actions must be based on good science. We need to face this crisis, its scale and spread honestly. Science and truth are the foundations on which we can tackle this crisis and ensure that it does not repeat itself ”
He said it was important to focus on the plight of the most vulnerable who are being devastated not only by the pandemic, but also by its economic fallout.
“Since the general situation is heartbreaking, but you look at the villages and those who live in poverty, it is not only the pandemic, but also the economic effects that are devastating the lives of the people,” he said. added.
“All of our actions must prioritize vulnerable people as they deserve. And also, we are emerging from this crisis and we must restructure our society and our economy so that our country is not confronted with this kind of inequity and injustice, ”he added.
The Positivity Unlimited program began on May 11 and will run until May 14 when RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat addresses the nation through electronic media.
