BAE Systems Wins $699 Million Army Contract to Support HPC Centers

MCLEAN, Va., and HUNTSVILLE, Ala., July 14, 2022 – The U.S. Army has awarded BAE Systems a five-year, $699 million contract for operations, maintenance, and management services for the Defense Supercomputing Resource Center (DSRC), including the Extended Services Program for High-Performance Computer (HPC) Users. The company will support the computer modernization program (HPCMP).

The program provides the Department of Defense (DoD) with supercomputing capabilities, high-speed network communications, and computer science expertise that enables DoD scientists and engineers to conduct a wide range of targeted research and development activities, test and evaluation and acquisition engineering. This partnership puts cutting-edge technology into the hands of U.S. forces faster, at lower cost, and with greater certainty of success. Today, the program provides a comprehensive advanced computing environment for the DoD that includes unique expertise in software development and systems design, powerful high-performance computing systems, and an extensive top-notch research network. The program is managed on behalf of the DoD by the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center.

BAE Systems will provide the Army with management and engineering support to advance HPC services, capabilities, infrastructure and technologies for the Navy DSRC, Stennis Space Center, Mississippi; the Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) DSRC, Vicksburg, Mississippi; the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) DSRC, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio; and the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) DSRC, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
