Delhi: RSS’s Seva Bharati establishes 100-bed COVID care center at Laxmi Bai College
New Delhi: Rashtriya Sevak Sangh (RSS ‘) Seva Bharati has set up a 100-bed COVID-19 care center at Laxmi Bai College, Ashok Vihar Phase 3 for mild and suspected coronavirus patients. They also provide oxygen concentrators to isolated patients at home.
“Mild and suspicious patients are admitted here. We provide oxygen concentrators to patients who remain in isolation at home for a security deposit,” an RSS official said.
On Monday, the Guru Tegh Bahadur COVID care center with 300 beds began operations on Monday at Rakab Ganj Gurdwara in Delhi. The center, managed by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara management committee, received a contribution of Rs 2 crore by film actor Amitabh Bachchan for the same. The Covid care facility will also provide oxygen concentrators, doctors, paramedics and ambulances. All services will be provided free of charge to patients.
Earlier today, Bharatiya Janata Party MP Meenakshi Lekhi attacked the Aam Aadmi party government for its handling of the COVID-19 situation in Delhi and claimed that only 355 new beds had been added to hospitals against its promise of 30,000 beds.
“Delhi is in bad shape due to the pandemic. Who should be held responsible? The party that came to power by making empty promises,” Lekhi said at a press conference on Tuesday.
“They only added 354 new hospital beds when they came to power by promising to add 30,000 beds,” she added.
Delhi reported 12,481 new cases and 347 additional deaths on Tuesday. The Covid-19 positivity rate was the lowest in nearly a month at 17.76%, according to the health department.
The positivity rate in the nation’s capital has exceeded 19% since April 17. It was 19.10% Monday, 21.67% Sunday and 23.34% Saturday.
