Farmer tax credits, community farm programming dollars

September 27 – RUSH COUNTY – The harvest season is upon us. Farmers, did you know you can support the Rush County Community Foundation (RCCF) with a grain donation? It’s true. RCCF has an account with all local elevators. Upon delivery, simply decide on the dollar amount or number of bushels you wish to donate and fill out a simple form.

Your donation entitles you to tax savings. A cash farmer who supplies grain to the RCCF does not include the sale of the crop in his income, which reduces self-employment, federal and state income taxes. (Please consult your tax professional to make the best choice for your situation.)

Your donation supports the Rush County Ag Fund, which provides grants for nonprofit farming programs, including teacher training, youth farming programs, and the preservation of local agricultural history.

For more information on grain donations, please contact your local elevator or contact the RCCF at (765) 938-1177 or [email protected]

Your generosity is “harvesting for the future of Rush County”.
