ADAM’s role in Metroid Dread involves giving Samus important updates about her surroundings when she logs into the supercomputer. Not only does this make the player aware of their surroundings, but there are also some clever plot reveals, especially towards the end of the game. The inclusion of ADAM makes exploration in Metroid Dread much more layered and interesting, giving a backstory to the world around Samus. Some players find these large dialogue sections too explanatory, but ADAM is necessary to ensure players understand how Samus changes throughout the game, from her surroundings to her physique.
