Shudder reveals lineup for May 2021

Can you believe it’s May already? 2021 is flying away! When the calendar page flips, it can only mean one thing. That’s right, it’s time to experience another amazing month of top-notch horror content about Shudder Boils and Ghouls! This month they have a bunch of original Shudder movies, new series episodes, classics from the 1960s and 1970s, and of course, more Joe Bob Briggs! Now is the perfect time to be a horror fan!

Here’s everything new to Shudder in May 2021!

May 1

House on the haunted hill (1959; United States)

A millionaire offers $ 10,000 to five people who agree to be locked in a large house rented overnight with him and his wife. The film is produced by horror legend William Castle.

House on the haunted hill (1999; United States)

An amusement park mogul offers a group of diverse people $ 1,000,000 to spend the night in a haunted house with a gruesome past.

13 ghosts (1960; United States, California)

A family inherits what turns out to be a haunted house, but a special pair of glasses allows them to see their ghostly tormentors. The film is produced by horror legend William Castle.

Curse of the demon (1958; United States, California)

Led by Hollywood great Jacques Tourneur, American professor John Holden arrives in London for a parapsychology conference, only to find himself investigating the mysterious actions of devil worshiper Julian Karswell.

The wicker man (1973; United States)

In a May Day celebration, a Puritan police sergeant arrives in a Scottish island village in search of a girl who locals say never existed.

Frankenhooker (WE)

Directed by Frank Henenlotter, a medical student sets out to recreate his beheaded fiancée by building her a new body made of Manhattan street prostitutes.

The jugement – An exclusive Shudder movie

After losing her husband during the Great Plague, Grace Haverstock (Charlotte Kirk, Ocean’s 8) is unfairly accused of being a witch and placed in the care of England’s most ruthless witch hunter, Judge Moorcroft (Sean Pertwee, Dog Soldiers). Forced to endure physical and emotional torture while firmly maintaining her innocence, Grace must face her own inner demons as the devil himself begins to make his way through her mind.

Directed by modern horror master Neil Marshall (The Descent, Dog Soldiers, Game of Thrones). The jugement was written by Marshall, star Charlotte Kirk and Edward Evers-Swindell.

May 20

PG: Psycho Goreman – An exclusive Shudder movie (Read our review here!)

In PG: Psycho Goreman, younger siblings Mimi and Luke unwittingly resurrect an ancient alien lord who was entombed on Earth millions of years ago after an unsuccessful attempt to destroy the universe. They nickname the evil creature Psycho Goreman (or PG for short) and use the magical amulet they discovered to force him to obey their childish whims. It doesn’t take long before the reappearance of PG attracts the attention of intergalactic friends and foes from across the cosmos, and a rogue gallery of alien fighters converges on the outskirts of a small town to fight for the fate of the galaxy.

As the group members begin to disappear, Jennifer learns that they all have something in common – a shared secret that seems to mark them all to death.

Skull: the mask – An original Shudder movie

In this supernatural splash-filled slasher, a pre-Columbian artifact contains the spirit of Anhangá, the executioner of the god Tahawantinsupay. Whoever wears the mask is possessed by Anhangá and forced to make sacrifices to resurrect his god. It’s up to a museum assistant and a policewoman to stop the massacre before the ritual is over. A return treat for fans of ’80s slashers and bloody practical effects.

Written and directed by Armando Fonseca and Kapel Furman, who have already co-directed 2016 Absorption of fear, Skull: the mask stars Brazilian wrestling champion Rurik Jr.
