The Block topped the overall television schedule on Sunday; Seven wins the week

Nine’s The Block Sunday topped overall television and entertainment ratings on Sunday, while the network also celebrated an overall win in network share.

The program aired to 984,000 Metro viewers, also winning all three major advertising demos. The launch last Sunday was broadcast to an average audience of 867,000 on the subway. Last year, Nine aired the 2021 premiere of the program to 747,000 Metro viewers.

Meanwhile, Seven beat Nine in the week ending August 13 with a 32.3% network share to Nine’s 29%, Ten ended the week on August 16, and ABC at 14.9%.

Seven also won the main channel share for the week, with a 22.2% share ahead of Nine’s 21.3%, and the best multichannel of the week was 7Mate with 5.3%.

Looking back to Sunday nights, the next entertainment was the last 15 minutes of The Masked Singer’s launch reveal on Ten, which aired to an average audience of 549,000 on the subway, followed by My Kitchen Rules on Seven, which aired to an average of 500,000. My Kitchen Rules premiered to 503,000 subway viewers.

Spicks and Specks on ABC had an average Subway audience of 483,000, followed by the full episode of The Masked Singer on Seven, which had 437,000 Subway viewers.

In sports, Sunday’s AFL match was broadcast to a metropolitan audience of 408,000.

Meanwhile, Seven News was the No. 1 subway program on Sunday with 982,000 subway viewers followed by Nine News on Sunday with 807,000 subway viewers. ABC News drew 572,000 viewers and Nine’s 60 Minutes drew 445,000 viewers.

As mentioned, Nine won the night, taking a 34.4% overall network share out of Seven’s 27.7%, while Ten took a 15.8% share and the ABC had 15%.

Nine also won the main channel share, and the highest-rated multichannel on Sunday was 7Mate with a 4.6% share.
