The United Arab Emirates shows the highest demand for ESG investment certificates in the MENA region

The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region provides significant demand for CFA InstituteCertificate in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Investment, with a particular focus on the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

CFA Institute, an association of investment professionals, is now reporting strong interest in its ESG investment certificate in the MENA region, with 55% of enrollment in the education program coming from the United Arab Emirates.

The program provides a globally recognized qualification for ESG investment management. It provides participants with the technical knowledge and practical application skills to succeed in the growing field of ESG investing.

“Our certificate in ESG investing provides professionals working in the financial sector with the practical, theoretical and technical knowledge they and their organizations need to solve today’s difficult problems,” comments Dana DayManaging Director MENA at the CFA Institute.

The program attracted 25,800 registrations worldwide.

In the United Arab Emirates, the topic of ESG is particularly important, given the progress the country has made in making sustainability a major pillar of its efforts to diversify the economy in recent years.

The UAE Green Agenda 2015-2030 has been announced as an overarching framework for green policies, while the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 strategy promotes net zero emissions by 2050.

It saw the United Arab Emirates Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) require public listed companies to publish their annual sustainability report to assess the long-term health and stability of the market.

PwCThe 2022 survey of Middle Eastern CEOs confirmed that 66% want to increase their investments in ESG and sustainability initiatives over the next three years.

As sustainable innovation becomes imperative for businesses, Day adds that having a solid understanding of ESG investing is “increasingly a competitive advantage.”

The program includes a self-study course requiring approximately 130 hours of study, culminating in a computer-based exam comprising 100 questions at a proctored test center or via online proctored tests.

Graduate candidates receive a certificate and a digital badge.
